Bitcoin faucet - Cointiply review

Well I didn't think I'd be back here talking about faucets!

For those who don't know, a Bitcoin faucet is a site that gives away free Bitcoins (or fractions there of!). The catch is usually lots of adverts, and a time limit on how often you can "claim".

So why am I writing about faucets again?

Well I'm out of work at the moment, and have been clicking around, and rejecting a lot of naff sites... but then I came across Cointiply, and liked it.

What Cointiply offers

  • You need to register (I don't normally go in for that, but the reviews show a long paying out site)
  • It pays all games/features out as "Coins" in your site wallet. 1 coin is one USD cent such that the amount of Bitcoin (BTC) you'll get on payout will be based on the exchange rate at the time. This protects you from falls in the value of Bitcoin until you're ready to cashout.
  • Cashout is from $3.50. I've got to $1 within an afternoon of clicking in the background.
  • There's a few ways to "earn"
    • Simple faucet, time limited to every 60 minutes. Although it claims the "roll of a dice" can give higher, I've won $0.40 of "Coins" each time.
    • Videos to watch, worth 5 cents each generally it seems
    • Multiplier - basically a simply luck game to increase your funds. Now I never trust these, even when (like Cointiply) they provide the odds. I've been very successful on this up to 5000 coins in my account (winning more than half of games, which obviously is too good to be true!)... after this, I'm convinced the odds got worse. I'm continuing to experiment, to see if there is something other than luck going on here!
    • Website clicks to follow, or "autosurf". I've mainly used the autosurf, as it seemed the fastest way to earn as background activity

Scam or Legit site?

Reading on forums, it looks like people are getting active payouts. To be honest, I've not reached the minimum value for a payout yet. But given the reviews online, and the fact I'm a third of the way there in one afternoon... I felt I had to share.

Will try to remember to update this if I request a payout, to let others know.

For now, if you'd like a small bit of Bitcoin, I'd recommend signing up and having a play... no harm if you just play with the free money you earn.

Update following CobexTrade

Well its not been the best start to the new year. My favourite e-Currency site, Liberty Reserve, seems to be coming under sustained DDOS attacks, making the site sometimes hard to access. But worse still, CobexTrade has gone. CobexTrade is a reminder (not that I wanted one!) that HYIPs are not just High Yield, but also High Risk. These sites come and go, and even with a very high reputation, CobexTrade has died. So what now? Well I still have some other funds, partly earned on the GoldAge forum , which I don't think I've mentioned here before. GoldAge is a forum dedicated to investors on HYIPs etc... and it actually pays its members for posting! Not a lot admittedly, but its nice to earn at the same time as get good advice from fellow HYIP investors. Here's my current portfolio...small as it is again now: BreInvest Sochi-Invest.org Golden Purse CobexTrade has been an unpleasant reminder not to get too secure a feeling from HYIPs...I lost a lot of my egold there...but lesson...

How I enter the Euromillions and UK National Lottery Lotto for free

In my quest for low risk investments, I've always sought to earn small rewards from websites, that I can risk at a later point for larger earnings. I've come across and used a few "paid to search" websites before, that generally use the Yahoo! search engine, and pay their users for using their service (logically paid for from the advertising revenue Yahoo makes). For the last years I've settled on Search Lotto which pays you in the form of syndicate entries in the Euromillions and UK National Lottery Lotto draws. I've won lots of small payouts, which are always paid out to my PayPal account within a few days of the draw. I have to say, I'm genuinely impressed. How it works Once you join Search Lotto , you can either download a browser extension, change your search engine settings in your browser, or just remember to go to their website when searching the Internet. When you've performed 25 searches, they give you a free entry into a lottery draw. You c...

8 years later... a progress update

Wow, it's been over 8 years since I setup this blog, and if I'm completely honest, I'd forgotten it existed! Revisiting it, it looks like things have changed a lot since my last post, and hence the need to update things here. The shutdown of Liberty Reserve meant that I lost a large proportion of the money I had earned through pay-to-click sites etc... This encouraged me to revisit my approach, and work out what to spend my time on, to ensure I was getting back to my principle of earning money with low risk, but additionally low effort. I now keep it simple: Search Lotto - This site basically pays you to use the Yahoo Search engine. It is branded under Search Lotto, but is Yahoo results, with the advertising revenue coming back to you. They pay in the form of Lottery tickets, either UK National Lottery or EuroMillions. I've not won a lot yet, but a few of my syndicates entries have won, and I've been paid out for these direct to my bank account. This is a ...
